This Asian fast food concept retained us in 1990 to develop a franchise program for expansion in the United States and Canada.  At the time the company had two units in the United States and two units in Canada.  In our development capacity, we created the manuals and systems to give the owner control over his business.  We also recommended standard operating procedures that were put in place for uniform control at the unit level.  

Our client's ethnic background made it difficult for him to quickly accept franchise prospects.  As a result, he abandoned his franchise growth plan, but continued to develop a total of ten company owned operations.  

We continued to serve this client until 2002 in an advisory capacity on a retained basis.  We helped him negotiate lease renewals, make lease vs. abandon decisions, review operations and make operational changes to improve daily operations.  We frequently explored alternatives to expansion within major malls.  We provided a sounding board service and work on specific projects within the framework of our advisory capacity.
