Our client was a very successful Northwest Interior Designer.  Her clients represented a list of who's who.  She regularly purchased furniture from a California manufacturer that created designs and furniture of a size and style to fill the grand rooms of her clients.  In the early 1990's, the manufacturer wanted to establish a retail presence in the Pacific Northwest, but did not want to take the initial business risk.  Our client was offered an opportunity to establish the brand in Seattle, Washington.

We were retained to develop a business plan against which she could execute.  She found a retail location with high visibility and reasonable rent.  She was offered special terms by the manufacturer that allowed her to fill the store with inventory, but pay for it when it sold.  We built a business plan for the operation.  We participated in initial monitoring of the operation to help her stay on track.

Her results speak for themselves.  The furniture business grew and flourished, her interior design business grew as well and she was very profitable.  About three years after taking the initial risk, the California manufacturer purchased the business from her at a handsome profit so it could enjoy the established retail business with its margins.
