M. D. Smith & Associates, Inc. employs a strategic planning methodology that can help any organization define it objectives.  The process further provides the traditional deliverables of a plan narrative and supporting financial exhibits.  In addition clients may receive a detailed implementation plan designed to execute the chosen strategy.  This service is supplied to new businesses, businesses in need of mid-term correction, charitable organizations and as a part of turnaround management.

Phase 1:

     Conduct Intensive Planning Sessions

The process commences with several days of intensive planning meetings.  These meetings are conducted away from the business or after business hours.  In this way, the meetings are uninterrupted.  In this process we agree to overall objectives, identify issues that obstruct execution, define solutions and events for resolution, sequence the events, define activities to accomplish events, define controls to ensure timely completion of activities and define the costs and resources required.

    Document Findings to Management

 Upon completion of the planning sessions, we documents the process to management. 

     Prepare Comprehensive Business Plan

The final step in this process is the preparation of a comprehensive business plan incorporating the elements of the expansion plan and the financial results expected.

 Phase 2:

      Establish Implementation Steps

Using the information gathered in Phase 1, we prepares a detailed roadmap for plan execution.  This plan describes the major items to be accomplished, the detailed steps in sequence, the responsible party for each step and when each step must be completed.  This tool provides the basis for regular progress monitoring and adjustments as necessary.

      Provide Implementation Management

We can manage project implementation, as desired.  This includes directing the project, finding necessary outside resources as necessary, and in some cases, providing a portion of the services as an outside contractor. 

Phase 3:

      Provide On-going Advisory Services

After completion of the roll out and launch of your expansion process, we are available as an advisor on an ongoing basis.  We provides this service in one of several ways.  We may be a member of your board, member of your advisory committee or a retained consultant.
